Little Good Deeds

LITTLE GOOD DEEDS – [Part 2 of 2]
====================

Holy Prophet PBUH said, “The best deeds are those which are consistent even if they are small.” (Bukhari) If we keep doing little good actions regularly, they can help in making our records heavier on the scales insha Allah. Here are a few of those little good actions which all of us can do easily on daily basis:

8. Gratitude:
==================
We should always be thankful to Allah for what He has bestowed upon us, as well as to those people who help in a difficult situation. Holy Prophet PBUH said, “Those who do not thank people, they do not thank Allah.” (Tirmidhi)

If someone has helped you, or given you a gift or made you happy, thank them from the bottom of your heart. And Allah is the worthiest to be thanked. He created us, gives us provision, takes care of us, and forgives our misdeeds even if we are not grateful to Him.

Although we can never thank Allah as He deserves, at least we should remind ourselves of His blessings and love every single time and say ‘Alhamdulillah’ sincerely.

9. Planting trees:
==================
The Holy Prophet said, “If a Muslim plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, it is regarded as a sadaqah for him.” (Bukhari)

We need more trees for our earth today. If you can’t plant a tree, grow a flowering plant or at least keep a flowerpot in your room or balcony. As long as it keeps producing oxygen which is inhaled by living things around you, you will keep getting the reward for that. Watering and taking care of plants too, is a charitable deed.

10. Visiting the sick:
==================
Visiting the sick person is a beautiful Sunnah and one of the rights of Muslims upon each other. It is our social responsibility to visit if someone in our family or acquaintance is afflicted with sickness, and give them hope.

It causes them to feel better and not depressed. Holy Prophet PBUH said, “When the Muslim visits his (sick) Muslim brother, he is harvesting the fruits of Paradise until he returns.” (Muslim) Visiting the sick, asking them about their health, praying for them and motivating them is a charity.

11. Well-wishing:
==================
We should always wish well for others and never have ill feelings. As Muslims, we must love good for each other. Holy Prophet PBUH said, “None of you will believe until you love for your brother what you love for yourself.” (Bukhari)
• If someone asks for your advice, give them a good advice.
• Keep guiding each other towards good deeds and knowledge.
• If someone is engaged in some bad practice, try to keep them away from evil.
• Be gentle and easy-going towards others.
• Never be jealous or envious if Allah has blessed them, rather be happy in their happiness and share their griefs.

12. Good intentions:
==================
We all know that deeds depend upon the intentions. So always keep your intentions pure and good. The best intentions to do something is to do it for Allah’s sake, i.e. to obtain His pleasure.

Even if you are doing some everyday task, like cleaning the house or cooking, remind yourself that you are doing it to help your family members. If you are at your workplace, intend to do your job to earn halaal.

Every day, plan to do one good deed. Even if are not able to do it, you will be rewarded for your good intention. Holy Prophet PBUH said, “If somebody intends to do a good deed and he does not do it, then Allah will write for him a full good deed.” (Bukhari)

13. Remembering Allah:
==================
Allah is our Creator, Protector, and The Bestower of Mercy. So it is He we should always keep in mind and heart. Remembering Allah often makes us conscious of His being aware of our actions.

Allah says, “So remember Me, I will remember you” (2:152). When we remember Allah in good and bad times and turn to Him, He too, does not become oblivious to His servants’ needs and responds to our invocations.

Even when busy in our worldly affairs, we must remember Allah by way of adhkaar and observing the limits set by Him. Remembrance and consciousness of Allah is a worship.

14. Praying for others:
==================
Praying for someone for whom you can’t do anything is the best gift you can give. It shows your utmost love and sincerity when you invoke Allah regarding other people. Holy Prophet PBUH said, “The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence will certainly be answered.

Every time he makes a supplication for his brother, the angel appointed for this particular task says: `Ameen! May it be for you, too.’” (Muslim)

Never forget your fellow Muslims in your supplications. Make dua for the living and the dead, those you know and those you don’t know. Pray for blessings and forgiveness for others, and make angels pray for you in return.

So, you can still do a lot! never underestimate even a kind word and start piling up good deeds today
