Verse of the day -Al-Quran, Surat Al-Isra 17, Verse 35
And give full measure when you measure, and weigh with a balance that is straight. That is good (advantageous) and better in the end.
[Al-Quran, Surat Al-Isra 17, Verse 35]
hadith of the day – Steadfast on the Deen
Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Alla…h’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: “A time will come on the people in which the one who is patient upon his religion will be like the one who holds live (burning) coal (in his hand).”
[Jami At-Tirmidhi, Chapter on Al-Fitan, Hadith: 2260]
Verse of the day -Surah Al-Ana’m 6, Verse 61, Part 7
He is the Irresistible, Supreme over His slaves, and He sends guardians (angels guarding and writing all of one’s good and bad deeds) over you, until when death approaches one of you, Our Messengers (angel of death and his assistants) take his soul, and they never neglect their duty.
[Al-Quran 6:61]
How the Qur’an is Both Concise and Comprehensive?
The Qur’an is a very concise book. You do not find unnecessary or superfluous detail in its verses; the information that it contains always serves and supports the overall purpose of the Qur’an which is guidance for mankind. By contrast the Old Testament provides a lot of unnecessary, and arguably harmful, detail that is of no benefit to those seeking guidance. A good example is Ezekiel 23:20, which describes the genitals and semen of men using obscene language. The New Testament suffers from a lot of repetition, for example the Gospels of Mark, Matthew and Luke contain so much duplicated material between them that it has led many Christian scholars to conclude that their authors used a common source which has since been lost to history. Quranic Verse- Surah Al-Ana’m 6, Verse 60, Part 7

Narrated Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “He who commits suicide by throttling shall keep on throttling himself in the hellfire (forever), and he who commits suicide by stabbing himself shall keep on stabbing himself in the hellfire….”

The Importance of Adab
The word adab is not fully translatable from Arabic to English. It encompasses all the good things a Muslim must do. Adab linguistically means to invite people for food. The Arabic word Ma’duba is a word derived from the word Adab, and means to invite all or many people for all types of food, or a gathering around a table. Adab hence includes all that is good; every noble characteristic, habit, or trait that is included within the scope of adab. Read the rest of this entry
Before You Pray
Before You Pray
By : Anas Al-Gawz
The Book Of Prayer: Salaat (Prayer) is one of the main obligations which Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) has ordained on His servants. It is the first act of worship decreed on the Muslim Nation (Ummah) by Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) and was ordained on the night of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) ascension to the seven heavens. It is the second of the five pillars of Islam after the proclamation of the “Shahada” (the words of witness)

The Four Foundations Of Shirk
by : Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab
In this book the author explains the dangerous concept of shirk through four simple principles. The sin of shirk or associating partners with Allah is the most reprehensible act that a person can do. It is for this reason that this sin is the one sin that Allah has promised He will never forgive.

The Miracles Of The Qur’an
by : Shaykh Muhammad Mitwalli ash-Sha’rawi
For Muslims, the Holy Qur’an is an inexhaustible and hauntingly beautiful source of guidance, consolation and enlightenment. Above all, it is the very Word of God as revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and protected for all time against falsification. Muslims’ absolute certainty on this point is often difficult for others to comprehend, however majestic and eloquent the text, even in translation.

The Sunnah of Love
‘Ali raḍyAllāhu ‘anhu came home one day from a journey that he had been dispatched on by the Prophet Muhammed ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam, to find his wife, Fatima, the daughter of the Prophet, radiya Allahu ‘anha brushing her teeth with a siwak – twig of an Arak (Salvadora persica) tree used for brushing teeth. Spontaneously, he, raḍyAllāhu ‘anhu, spouted out poetic endearment:
هنئت يا عود الأراك بثغرها … أما خشيت يا أراكُ أراك
لو كان غيرك يا سواك قتلته … ما فاز منى يا سواكُ سواك
Fortunate are you O twig of the Arak tree,
Have you no fear of me observing you in this embrace
If it were other than you…O Siwak! I would have killed you!
None found this fortune of embrace before me, but you.
I get emailed & facebooked often from couples trying to salvage and mend broken trust and exponentially inhospitable relationships. I usually respond within a couple of weeks, detailing my unwillingness to “counsel” from a virtual distance that begets unilateralism. Horror stories of infidelity, violence, and arrogance abound. Naturally, there is no greater issue facing the Muslim communities of the West that is more pressing and multidimensional than that of family relations. Read the rest of this entry
