Women praying Jumu’ah: two rak’ahs only – Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid

373814_194553953969670_172334839524915_395241_804614438_nAssalamualaikum,
Is it permissible for women to pray the friday Zuhr prayer in the mosque that is only two rakat . When i was a child Iwas told that two rakat of Zuhr prayer on friday is only for men and women are supposed to pray on friday as any other day . Please guide me . Jazakallah khair .

Women do not have to pra…y Salaat al-Jumu’ah (Friday prayer). Ibn Qudaamah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “As regards women, there is no difference (among the scholars) concerning the fact that Jumu’ah is not obligatory for them.” ( Al-Mughni ma’a al-Sharh al-Kabeer , 2/151). But if a woman prays Jumu’ah in the mosque, then she should pray two rak’ahs, just like the men. Ibn Hazm (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “Jumu’ah is not obligatory for one who is weak because of sickness or who has another valid excuse, or for women, but if any of these people attend Jumu’ah, they should pray two rak’ahs.” ( al-Muhallaa , 5/81). So if a woman goes to the mosque and prays Jumu’ah, this is good enough, and she does not have to pray Zuhr too. And Allaah knows best.

Quoting a verse of Qur’aan as a proverb

1507948_699088106790459_78279281_nQuoting a verse of Qur’aan as a proverb
We hear many people using Qur’aanic verses as proverbs and the like, such as the verses (interpretation of the meaning): “Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger” [al-Ghaashiyah 88:7] and “Thereof (the earth) We created you, and into it We shall return you, and from it We shall bring you out once again” [Ta-Ha 20:55]. That includes Qur’aanic verses which cannot be uttered except for beneficial purposes, not for mockery and …making fun, as it is commonly quoted by some people, either verbally or in writing. Is that permissible or not?.

Excellent talk given by Abdur Raheem Green about the mythological and the historical Jesus. This lecture also sheds some light on how this mythological Jesus, the doctrines of the trinity and original sin came about as well as how the early Christians were not concerned with the alleged death and resurrection of Jesus. The information mentioned in this lecture is from mostly Christian scholars and historians.

Is it permissible for a woman to use false eyelashes?

Praise be to Allaah.
It is haraam for a woman to wear false eyelashes because they come under the heading of hair extensions, for which the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) cursed those who do that.

Presentation1
… Al-Bukhaari and Muslim (2122) narrated that Asma’ bint Abi Bakr said: A woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said: “O Messenger of Allaah, I have a daughter who is newly married, and she had the measles and her hair fell out. Can I give her hair extensions?” He said: “Allaah has cursed the one who fixes hair extensions and the one who has that done.”

Al-Bukhaari (5205) and Muslim (2123) narrated from ‘Aa’ishah that a girl from among the Ansaar got married and she became sick and her hair fell out. They wanted to give her hair extensions, so they asked the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) about that, and he cursed the one who fixes hair extensions and the one who has that done. when you love someone what should you do?

386735_506787312694386_30914408_n
Question and Answer:
I have never spoken to her, and generally do not speak to women. We sometimes exchange salams.
How do I propose to her and approach her for marriage, since I am a practising muslim, and do not talk to sisters what is the best way?
Should I go and speak to her and get to know her first, without stepping beyond the boundaries of Allah? or shall I propose straight away?
I am afraid that because she does not really know me, and that we are from different cultural backgrounds I will be rejected instantly if I propose straight away without getting to know her first.
Whilst on the other hand I fear that I am doing something Un-islamic If I talk to her and get to know her.
I am in a difficult situation what is the best thing to do?

Is smoking cigarettes Haraam?

46855_islampeace1.wordpress.com_n

It is so sad to see some friends and even worse family members engaged in this suicide leading desire 😦
May Allah guide them, In Sha Allah

Praise be to Allah and peace and blessings be on His Prophet SAWS.

Smoking is one of the things which has caused a lot of problems and harm these days and it has spread like wild fire. Before we discuss this topic in detail, we should know that Allaah the Almighty has divided things in the world into two types, good or permissible (al-tayyibaat, al-halaal) and evil or prohibited (al-khabaa’ith, al-haraam), and there is no third type. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning) in [The Holy Qurann, Surat al-A’raaf (7:157)]:

“And He makes good things halaal for them and bad things haraam.”

Considering this fact, smoking can either be permissible and good or prohibited and evil.

Thus, we present some of its characteristics and let the person asking the question see himself in which type lies smoking. Read the rest of this entry
