That Which Shall Have no Equal on the Day of Resurrection

Narrated Abu Huraira:Allah’s Apostle said, ”Whoever says one hundred times in a day:

“Laa ilaaha illallaah wahdahuu laa shareeka lahu, lahu-l-mulk wa lahu-l-hamd wa huwa ‘alaa kulli shai’in qadeer,”

(“None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Alone Who has no partners, to Him belongs Dominion and to Him belong all the Praises, and He has power over all things (i.e. Omnipotent)”,}

he will get the same reward as given for manumitting ten slaves; and one hundred good deeds will be written in his accounts, and one hundred sins will be deducted from his accounts, and it (his saying) will be a shield for him from Satan on that day till night, and nobody will be able to do a better deed except the one who does more than he.” (Bukhari, Book #75, Hadith #412)

Ruling on a Woman Asking for a Divorce from Her Husband

580444_435966516477009_787197777_nIf a couple differs in their Islamic perceptions. One who grow up in the West and the other in the East. And they quarrel constantly and can’t come to an agreement. At what point is talaq considered? Is it wrong for a sister to ask for talaq? Will she be punished on the Day of Judgment? Does the Arsh of Ar-Rahman shake once talaq is asked for? This is what one sister, growing up the West is being told by her husband from the East.
Jazak Allah khayr for your response.

All Praises are Due to Allah

The divorce of a Muslimah from her husband is an affair which is loathsome to Allah and not a praise worthy event. This is due to the Read the rest of this entry

Da`eef (Weak) Hadeeth

541537_498992406784989_1999429850_n“When you call upon Allaah, then supplicate with the palms of your hands, and do not supplicate with their backs, and when you finish, wipe your face with them.”

Da`eef (Weak). Related by Ibn Maajah (1181, 3866), Ibn Nasr in Qiyaam al-Lail (p. 137), Tabaraani in Al-Mu`jam al-Kabeer (3/98/1) & Haakim (1/536), from Saalih ibn Hassaan from Muhammad ibn Ka`b from Ibn `Abbaas (radi Allaahu `anhu) as marfoo`.

This is a weak sanad due to Ibn Hassaan, who is munkar in Hadeeth, as Bukhaari said; Nasaa’i said, “He is abandoned in Hadeeth”; Ibn Hibbaan said, “He used to have female singers and listen to music, and he used to narrate fabricated reports on the authority of trustworthy narrators”; Ibn Abi Haatim said in Kitaab al-`Ilal (2/351), “I asked my father (i.e. Abu Haatim al-Raazi) about this hadeeth, to which he said: `Munkar’.”  Read the rest of this entry

Why do some people become ugly?

1426744_566640710067911_473538680_nWhy do some people become ugly?
Have you ever wondered why so many people who were bright and beautiful as children, however, as they grew older their innocence and beauty eluded them? Well, wonder no more – Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) explains to us:

“The person who is righteous and honest, his honesty is manifest from the radiance on his face, and his honesty can be known from the glow that is on his face, likewise the (opposite for the) sinful one and the liar. The older a person gets, the more this sign becomes apparent. Thus a person as a child would have a bright face, however if he becomes a sinful person, adamant on committing sins, at the Read the rest of this entry

The virtue of fasting ‘Ashoora’

305479_315348121827392_315936901_nThe virtue of fasting ‘Ashoora’ :
by : Muhammad Salih Al-Munajjid

Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:

Fasting the day of ‘Ashoora’ does expiate for the past year, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Fasting the day of ‘Arafah I hope Allaah will expiate there-by for the year before it and the year after it, and fasting the day of ‘Ashoora’ I hope Allaah will expiate thereby for the year that came before it.” Narrated by Muslim, 1162. This is by the bounty that Allaah bestows upon us, whereby fasting one day expiates for the sins of a whole year. And Allaah is the Owner of great bounty.  Read the rest of this entry

Muharram And ‘Ashura and its History

1461021_396483587121175_610994478_nAllah’s sacred month of Muharram is a blessed and important month. It is the first month of the Hijri calendar and is one of the four sacred months concerning which Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Verily, the number of months with Allaah is twelve months (in a year), so it was ordained by Allaah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them, four are sacred. That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein…” [Surah al-Tawbah 936]

Abu Bakrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“The year is twelve months of which four are sacred, the three consecutive months of Dhu’l-Qa’dah, Dhu’l-Hijjah and Muharram, and Rajab Mudar which comes between Jumaada and Sha’baan.” (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 2958)

Muharram is so called because it is a sacred (muharram) month and to confirm its sanctity.

Riba/usury/interest is haram [forbidden] and a major sin

1463333_10151817995424891_64098823_n“Undoubtedly, riba/usury/interest is haram [forbidden] and a major sin, and if we have engaged in it then we must repent. We must remember that the life of this world is short and fleeting, and that the purpose of our existence is not to lust after beauty and wealth, but rather to worship Allah correctly and live in obedience to Him Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. Just because riba [usury/interest] is widespread and common, like zina [fornication], pork and alcohol is nowadays, does not make it permissible. When the haram in this dunya [world] seems easy, a productive Muslim should remember his ultimate goal and objective in life.”

CHOOSING THE DESIRED WIFE – IBRAHIM A. KHALID

546963_292403547527308_1791704762_nAll praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, the Merciful, the Hearer of supplications, and peace and blessings upon our beloved and humble prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions.

When marriage is spoken of during these “modern” times, Muslims become horrified, conjuring images of an arranged marriage, trying to find that “perfect” companion, how much of a financial burden it will become, and so on. The reality is that Islam came to solve these problems, not exacerbate them, yet unfortunately we have integrated our local traditions and customs with Islam so that marriage has become a major concern for a man rather than a delightful experience. When living in a free, perverted and corrupt Western society, the Muslim male youth finds many temptations and tests, as a result of mixing with females, which he must face and overcome. He must constantly resist these temptations, which are thrown at him in the streets, on the media, and at work. And so the wisdom of the Prophet (s.a.w) echoes on, when he said: Read the rest of this entry

Who were the “true Christians,” by which we mean the true followers of Jesus (peace be with him), according to the Qur’an? Can we identify any historical group as being the true followers of Jesus (p.), according to what we know in the Qur’an?

In early Christianity, there were a number of Christian groups – not just the followers of Paul. Some of the beliefs of these Christians were remarkably similar to what the Qur’an says about Jesus (peace be with him). Read the rest of this entry

Brief Biography of Imaam Muslim

Biography of Imam Muslim

As his nisbah shows, Imaam Muslim belonged to the Qushayr tribe of the Arabs, an offshoot of the mighty clan of Rabee’ah. His tribe had taken an important part in the history of Islaam after the death of the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him). Haydah of Qushayr is mentioned in the Isabah as one of the companions, while Qurra Ibn Hubayrah, another Qushayree, was appointed by the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) as walee in charge of the alms of his people. Ziyaad Ibn ‘Abdur-Rahmaan al-Qushayree is said to have killed a vast number of Byzantine troopers at the Battle of the Yarmook, in which he lost one of his legs. Read the rest of this entry

Let not the people come to know except of your happiness..

“Let not the people come to know except of your happiness, and let them not see except your smile. If life becomes constricted upon you, then within the Qur’an is your orchard. If you feel curtailed and restricted, then to the heavens raise your call. And if they ask you of your affairs, then praise Allah and smile.

If you see an ant on the path, then do not crush it, and seek the Face of Allah thereby, so that He will have mercy on you like you had mercy on it, and remember that it glorifies Allah, so do not halt this glorification by killing it.

And if you pass by a bird drinking from the blessing of water, then do not pass close to it in case you startle it, and seek the Face of Allah thereby, so that He grants you safety on the Day when hearts shall reach the throat. Read the rest of this entry
