The Universal Message of Prophet Muhammad PBUH ﷺ

By Zeki Saritoprak / 16 Mar 2013

Theologically speaking, the universality of Prophet Muhammad’s message (peace and blessings be upon him) comes from the concept of Allah who is the God of all, not only the God of Muslims.

Allah describes Himself in the first chapter of the Qur’an -which is recited by all Muslims around the world in their five daily Prayers- as “Rabb al-`Alamin” i.e. the Allah of all creation. Whether humans are aware of this fact or not, Allah is the God of all mankind – Muslims, Christians, atheists, etc. – regardless of their differences. Allah is the Creator of everything, with no exception. The Qur’an declares that a gigantic star and an atom are shoulder to shoulder, worshipping Allah; flies and elephants are brothers and sisters; all of creation is here to help us understand the meaning and the mystery of the universe. Speech on Prophet Muhammad PBUH and the message of peace

Source : / 19 Feb 2013

There have been many biographies written and speeches given on Prophet Muhammad(peace and blessings be upon him) that have provided a glimpse of his life, the role that he played as a Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the message that he brought for mankind. However, the speech delivered by Ja‘far bin Abi Talib to the Christian king of Abyssinia (Ethiopia) in the 7th century to date is referenced as one of the most succinct and eloquent speeches that captured the moments of that era, and expressed the message of Islam concisely and clearly. He makes lawful for them all things that are good and prohibits for them all that is foul and he relieves them from their burden and the fetters that they used to wear. Then those who believe in him, honor him, assist him, and follow the light which is sent down with him: they are the successful”

French Director Finds Islam After Charlie Attacks

CAIRO – French director Isabelle Matic has announced her decision to revert to Islam on her FaceBook account, making the unexpected announcement only a few days after Charlie Hebdo Paris attacks.

“Today, I passed through the first pillar of Islam. There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His Prophet,” Matic said in a message posted on her Facebook page on January 11.

She followed her announcement with a series of posts in which she thanked Moroccan actor Hicham Bahloul for announcing her decision on Moroccan papers.

“Between the massacre at the premises of Charlie Hebdo and other event that have followed: I became a Muslim,” Matic wrote. In another message, she described how she took the decision and its effect on her beliefs in freedom of expression.

“Am I still for freedom of expression for all and Charlie Hebdo in particular?! Yes,” Matic wrote yesterday.

“With regard to my position towards the caricatures of the Prophet, I will write you the text of the SMS that I received this morning from a mosque which agreed quite well with my thoughts since the beginning of the cartoons, well before I became a Muslim,” she added Read the rest of this entry

George Bernard Shaw, a famous writer says about Mohamed

“He must be called the Savior of Humanity. I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world, he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it much needed peace and happiness.”

Hadith of the day- Following Sunnah is way to the Jannah

Narrated Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: “All my followers will enter Paradise except those who refuse.” They (the people) asked: “Who will refuse?” He (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me is the one who refuses (to enter it).”

[Sahih Al-Bukhari, the book of holding Fast to the Quran & the Sunnah, Hadith: 7280]

عن أبي هريرة أن رسول الله صلی الله عليه وسلم قال کل أمتي يدخلون الجنة إلا من أبی قالوا يا رسول الله ومن يأبی قال من أطاعني دخل الجنة ومن عصاني فقد أبی

Let us revive a forgotten Sunnah

The Messenger of Allah said: ‘Whoever revives a Sunnah of mine, which people then act upon, will have a reward equivalent to that of those who act upon it, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest. And whoever introduces an innovation (Bid’ah) that is acted upon, will have a burden of sins equivalent to that of those who act upon it, without that detracting from the burden of those who act upon it in the slightest.’
Insha Alah we will begin together this series of reminding each other with one of the forgotten Sunun and later try to expose A Bid’ah (an innovation).
Well, let me begin with one Sunnah:

Narrated Mu’adh ibn Anas:
The Prophet (saws) said:
If anyone puts on a garment and says:
“Praise be to Allah Who has clothed me with this and provided me with it through no might and power on my part,” he will be forgiven his former and later sins.

Sunnah or Bid’ah – How Can We Tell? Dr. Bilal Philips

960176_237940536364026_529236347_nHow can we tell if a certain worship is innovated in Islam? what is the way to distinguish between a Sunnah and a Bid’ah?

When we come back to Tawhid and Ibadah, worshipping Allah by maintaining His unity in that worship, we do so in the way that the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him) did.

We do not invent or introduce new ways of worship, as some people for example; they want to celebrate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him). So they say, “this is something good”. They may even bring a verse from the Quran. They will say, “Allah said in the Quran, ‘Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.'” [Noble Quran 33:56] They bring this verse out. Read the rest of this entry

Why should one believe in Muhammad (SAWS)?

1) Muhammad (PBUH) was born with no silver spoon in his mouth. His life began with infinitesimal support. His father had died before he was born. His mother dies by the time he was six years old. He was doubly orphaned at this tender age, his grandfather Abdul Muttalib took charge of him, but he too died within three years. As soon as he was able, Muhammad (PBUH) began to look after his uncle’s sheep and goats. Contrast this poor, double orphaned Arab child with no formal education (Allaah calls him “The Unlettered Prophet” in the Noble Qur’aan) with some of the great religious personalities that preceded him, and you must marvel at what destiny had in store for him!1384133_549382431802083_1865795661_n Read the rest of this entry

wear clean and beautiful clothes but avoid pride

The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Whoever has pride in his heart equal to the weight of a mustard seed shall not enter Paradise.” Someone asked, “A person likes to wear beautiful clothes and fine shoes.” He replied, “Allah is beautiful and likes beauty. Pride means rejecting the truth and looking down on other people.” [Sahih Muslim]

and about cleanliness,

Abu Malik at-Ash’ari Radi Allah Anhu) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sal-allahu- alleihi-wasallam ) said: Cleanliness is half of faith and al-Hamdu Liliah (Praise be to Allah) fills the scale, and Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) and al-Hamdu Liliah (Praise be to Allah) fill upwhat is between the heavens and the earth, and prayer is a light, and charity is proof (of one’s faith) and endurance is a brightness and the Holy Qur’an is a proof on your behalf or against you. All men go out early in the morning and sell themselves, thereby setting themselves free or destroying themselves.

Analysis on visiting the Grave of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)

Every believer has a desire to visit the Blessed Grave of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) during his life time. Some even spend their entire earning just to have a glimpse of it. But unfortunately some people from the minority sect have started corrupting the innocent minds of the Muslim Ummah and thereby misleading them with false information. These extremists declare the act of traveling to visit the Blessed Grave of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) as Biddah (bad Innovation) and Haraam. This was propagated by Ibn Taymiyyah whose verdict Imam Ibn Hajr al Asqalani (rh) rightly refutes.

Muhammad S.A.W is listed as “Greatest Law Giver” In USA supreme court

221998_365005320242845_1757064114_nHere is what the US Supreme Court’s website says about this frieze:

… Muhammad (c. 570 – 632) The Prophet of Islam. He is depicted holding the Qur’an. The Qur’an provides the primary source of Islamic Law. Prophet Muhammad’s teachings explain and implement Qur’anic principles. The figure above is a well-intentioned attempt by the sculptor, Adolph Weinman, to honor Muhammad, and it bears no resemblance to Muhammad. Muslims generally have a strong aversion to sculptured or pictured representations of their Prophet.

In the year in which the frieze of Prophet Muhammad was erected, Franklin D. Roosevelt was president, and Charles Evans Hughes was the Chief Justice. It is not known how the court deliberated on this architectural contribution. No one at that time thought it inappropriate to include Prophet Muhammad as one of the greatest lawgivers of the world at the chambers of the United States Supreme Court. This was despite the fact that American society at that time was not as diverse as it is today. Women had just acquired the right to vote, and Japanese-Americans were about to be sent to concentration camps.

What did Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) desire? – Islamic life

Praise to be Allah (God), the Lord of the worlds, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful! In sha’Allah (by the will of Allah (SWT)), in this article I’ll expose the hypocrisy of Islamic haters and debunks their false allegations against the noble character of al-habib (the beloved, may Allah’s (SWT) mercy and blessings be upon …him – Prophet Muhammad). Mocking, insulting, rejecting and accusing the Prophets (Peace be upon on them) is not new. It is an old habit of disbelievers. Allah (SWT) is telling Prophet (Peace be upon him) (interpretation of the meaning): “Mocked were (many) Messengers before thee; but the scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked” [6:10] and “And if they reject thee, so were messengers rejected before thee: to Allah go back for decision all affairs” [35:4] and “And if they reject thee, so did their predecessors, to whom came their messengers with Clear Signs, Scripture and the Book of Enlightenment” [35:25].

Give & Accept Gifts Its Sunnah :)

Gift Giving

Hadith Explanation

The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) used to accept gifts and used to give something in return.” [Sahih Bukhari]

Gift giving increases love and affection among people. For this the gift does not have to be given on a particular occasion or of a particular standard. Whatever is given to promote harmony between Muslims, seeking with this Allah’s Pleasure, will be a source of happiness on the Day of Judgement. The more we love Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) the more we will love His creation and desire to give people good things, good sentiments and good advice.

If we give presents to each other because it is the Sunnah of Allah’s Beloved Messenger and because following his Sunnah will make Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) pleased with us, then this gift giving is praiseworthy. On the other hand, if we give gifts in order to receive something in return, then this type of gift giving will bring us no lasting good. When we give presents in order to show off what we can afford to give, this arrogance invites Allah’s wrath and punishment.

Some other corrupt practices associated with gift giving are: belittling others’ gifts and opening presents in the middle of a gathering of people. When we expose everybody’s gifts to a crowd we risk embarrassing those who had a smaller budget. Some people end up having spent more than they could afford to in order not to be publicly humiliated. All in all we take a practice of love and sincerity and turn it into an ugly competition, creating hardships for our brothers and sisters in Islam. Read the rest of this entry

Authentic Hadiths on Neighbours

Narrated Samurah: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: A neighbour has the best claim to the house or land of the neighbour. – [Sunan Abu Dawood, 1556]

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The neighbour is most entitled to the right of pre-emption, and he should wait for its exercise even if he is absent, when the two properties have one road. – [Sunan Abu Dawood, 1557]

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-‘As: Mujahid said that Abdullah ibn Amr slaughtered a sheep and said: Have you presented a gift from it to my neighbour, the Jew, for I heard the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) say: Gabriel kept on commending the neighbour to me so that I thought he would make an heir?  [Sunan Abu Dawood, 2446]

Malik related to me from Ibn Shihab from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “No one should prevent his neighbour from fixing a wooden peg in his wall.” Then Abu Hurayra said, “Why do I see you turning away from it? By Allah! I shall keep on at you about it.” [Malik Al-Muwatta, Volume 36, Number 32] Read the rest of this entry

Laugh, Play and Joke with your life Partner- Its Sunnah :)

Aa’isha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates in Sahih Al Bukhari V2/B 15/no.70]:

It was the day of ‘Id, and the Black people were playing with shields and spears; so either I requested the Prophet (peace be upon him) or he asked me whether I would like to see the display. I replied in the affirmative. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) made me stand behind him and my cheek was touching his cheek and he was saying, “Carry on! O Bani Arfida,” till I got tired.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked me, “Are you satisfied (Is that sufficient for you)?” I replied in the affirmative and he told me to leave.

The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) always kept his smile with his wives and he used to laugh and please them to make them laugh as well. With all the troubles around him, he used to take his wife Aisha, to the desert and say, “Aisha, lets race!” And she used to race him and win. So, he kept on feeding her meat for a whole week, so she would unassumingly gain weight, until he took her again to the desert and said, “Aisha, let’s race!” At that time, he won and said to her, “This time I won!”.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): A Mercy to the mankind — (Part- 2/2)

The Prophet’s Care for People With Special Needs

The civilized world has recently paid attention to people with special needs. This started after it had cast aside corrupt, racist theories calling for neglecting them on the false grounds that people with special needs are not of any benefit to the society. A report issued by the United Nations International Labour Organization in 2000 estimated the number of those with special needs to be more than 610 million, out of which 400 million live in developing countries. According to the World Bank’s statistics, this category represents 15 percent of the world’s population.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) : A Mercy to the Mankind — (Part- 1/2)

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the best role model for all humankind. Among his outstanding virtues and characteristics, he was an extraordinary husband, a perfect father, and a unique grandfather. He was also a great statesman, judge, and spiritual leader. His most distinctive quality, however, was the fact that he was a blessing to all in both word and deed. He infused justice, love, and dignity in all those around him. He spread the power of brotherhood to the extent that it became exceptional in human history. Affirming that these grand virtues were bestowed on him by Allah the Almighty and that He prepared His loyal messenger to call for the true religion, is part of one’s belief.
The Qur’an describes the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as merciful and kind to the believers. Allah the Almighty says,
{Now hath come unto you a Messenger from amongst yourselves: it grieves him that ye should
perish: ardently anxious is he over you: to the Believers is he most kind and merciful.)
(The Holy Quran, Surah At-Tawbah 9:128)

Brief details about the life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)

Praise be to Allaah.

Differences and disputes arose among the Children of Israel. They introduced alterations and changes in their beliefs and laws. Thus truth was extinguished and falsehood prevailed, oppression and evil became widespread, and people needed a religion that would establish truth, destroy evil and guide people to the straight path, therefore Allah sent Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) as Allaah said (interpretation of the meaning):

“And We have not sent down the Book (the Qur’aan) to you (O Muhammad, except that you may explain clearly unto them those things in which they differ, and (as) a guidance and a mercy for a folk who believe”

[The Holy Quran, Surah, al-Nahl 16:64]

Words of Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam)

Jabir bin ‘Abdullah (Radiya Allahu anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
“Satan erects his throne on water and sends his emissaries among the people. The closest person to him is the person who causes the most Fitnah. One of them (a devil) would come to him and would say, ‘I kept inciting so-and-so, until he said such and such words.’ Iblis says, ‘No, by Allah, you have not done much.’ Another devil would come to him and would say, ‘I kept inciting so-and-so, until I separated between him and his wife.’ Satan would draw him closer and embrace him, saying, ‘Yes, you did well.”
[Recorded by Imam Muslim 4:2167]

Sa’eed ibn Zaid reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “He who wrongly takes a span of land, Allah shall make him carry around his neck seven earths.”

[Sahih Muslim, Book 10, Number 3920]

Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said, “Whoever has wronged his brother, should ask for his pardon (before his death), as (in the Hereafter) there will be neither a Dinar nor a Dirham. (He should secure pardon in this life) before some of his good deeds are taken and paid to his brother, or, if he has done no good deeds, some of the bad deeds of his brother are taken to be loaded on him (in the Hereafter).
[Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 8, Book 76, Hadith 541] – Narrated Abu Huraira
