1385427_10151995539502214_297453623_nLook at your status in Deen since you married your spouse. Look at your knowedge, has it grown? Your character, has it improved? Look at your relationship with your Lord, look at the condition of your heart.

The measure of success in your relationship, the value of it, should be in these things. You may argue, he/she may not “get you,” he might leave his clothes on the floor, she might nag and complain to her friends… but if your deen has improved, if your knowledge has grown, your heart been polished, then there is immense good in what Allah has given you. (Surely, there may be good in a thing you hate.)

So be grateful and patient and praise your Lord. And if you find your relationship has done the opposite… stunted your religious growth, distanced you from your Lord, then it may be time to reevaluate.

May Allah bless us all with good spouses who bring us nearer to the gardens of paradise and closer to our Lord. Ameen.

About Abdullah

Analytical & Creative. --- I'm not a Sheikh or a scholar, I'm just a regular guy in love with this Deen. Don't praise me for practicing my Deen. But pray for me, for the errors, that you haven't seen.
