Is Islam against pure democracy does it tolerates slavery? -Dr. Zakir Naik

Why in Islaam denial of human rights is acceptable? Why Islaam is against pure democracy and tolerates slavery?
Dr. Zakir Naik Answers…
The misconception does not follow from the reasons given, and the reasons ignore a great deal of information.

As stated earlier, Islaam is a complete way of life. Given this, it is not surprising that the Creator is concerned with the method which we choose to govern ourselves. The preeminent rule which the Islaamic state must observe is stated in the Qur’an as follows: [4:59] O you who believe! Obey Allaah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you. If you differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allaah and His Messenger, if you do believe in Allaah and the Last Day; That is best, and most suitable for final determination.

From this verse, it is clear that the state’s obligation of obedience to the Creator is as important as the obedience of the individual. Hence, the Islaamic state must derive its law from the Qur’an and Sunnah. This principle excludes certain choices from the Islaamic state’s options for political and economic systems, such as a pure democracy, unrestricted capitalism, communism, socialism, etc. For example, a pure democracy places the people above the Qur’an and Sunnah, and this is disobedience to the Creator. However, the best alternative to a pure democracy is a democracy that implements and enforces the Sharee’ah (Islaamic Law).

The Creator also states in the Qur’an: [42:36-38] So whatever thing you are given, that is only a provision of this world’s life, and what is with Allaah is better and more lasting for those who believe and rely on their Lord, and those who shun the great sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they forgive, and those who respond to their Lord and keep up prayer, and their rule is to take counsel among themselves, and who spend out of what We have given them.

Enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil

You [true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) and his Su…nnah] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma’ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden), and you believe in Allah .

Ruling on women Proposing Man!?

If a woman want to propose a man whose religious commitment and character are good, she can consult her wali.
Sahl bin Sa’d As-Sa’idi narrated that:

A woman came to the Messenger of Allah and said: “I present myself to you (for marriage).” So she stood for a long time. Then a man said: “O Messenger of Allah! Marry her to me if you have no need of her.” So he said: “Do you have anything to give her as a dowry?” He said: “I have nothing except this Izar.” So the Messenger of Allah said: “If you give her your Izar then you will have no Izar, so search for something.” He said: “I did not find anything.” He said: “Search for something, even if it just an iron ring.” He said: So he searched but he did not find anything. The Messenger of Allah said: “Do you have any Qur’an (memorized)?” He said: “Yes. This Surat and that Surat.” And he named the Surat. So the Messenger of Allah said: “I marry her to you for what you have (memorized) of the Qur’an.”

Thabit Al-Bunani said:
“I was with Anas bin Malik and a daughter of his was with him. He said: ‘A woman came to the Messenger of Allah and offered herself in marriage to him. She said: O Messenger of Allah, do you want to marry me?’”

[SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 4, Book 26, Hadith 3251)]

It was narrated from Anas that a woman offered herself in marriage to the Prophet. The daughter of Anas laughed and said:
“How little was her modesty.” Anas said: “She was better than you; she offered herself in marriage to the Prophet Muhammad pbuh.”

March 16th let us remember and pay tribute To Rachel Corrie ♥

‎The 10th Anniversary of Rachel Corrie, an American peace activist and member of International Solidarity Movement (ISM) from Olympia, Washington…, who was crushed to death by an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) armored bulldozer in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.Rachel Corrie had come to Gaza during the height of the second Palestinian intifada as part of her senior-year college assignment to connect her home town with Rafah in a sister cities project. While there she had engaged with other ISM activists in efforts to non-violently prevent the Israeli army’s demolition of the homes of Palestinian people.

Less than two months after her arrival, on March 16, 2003, Corrie was killed after a three-hour confrontation between two bulldozers and eight ISM activists. Wearing a bright orange fluorescent jacket and, until shortly before her death, using a megaphone, she was killed while standing in the path of a bulldozer that was about to demolish the house of local pharmacist Samir Nasrallah’s family whom she had befriended. She was run over twice by the bulldozer resulting in a fractured skull, shattered ribs and punctured lungs.
The ISM said she had placed herself between the bulldozer and a wall near Samir’s home. Members of the ISM said that she was killed by the Israeli bulldozer and that there was nothing to obscure the driver’s view.

R.I.P Rachel Corrie.

Let the world know we stand strong in solidarity against all occupation and injustices.
